Certification

Trained and competent testing personnel are essential to good quality testing and patient care. Personnel should be trained and competent in each test they will perform before reporting patient results. In addition, training should include aspects of safety (including Universal Precautions) and Quality Control. The Risk Management and Chief Medical Officer or other persons responsible for overseeing testing should ensure that testing personnel receive adequate training and are competent to perform the procedures for which they are responsible.

Training

Training for facility personnel is performed by a certified trainer, an employee of the facility, who has successfully completed the Nipro Diagnostics Training Certification Program. A checklist is provided in the QA/QC Manual for the Certified Trainer to record that the employee understands all procedures and limitations concerning the blood glucose monitoring system and is able to perform testing correctly. The completed checklist may be filed in the employee file for a record of individual training.

Training on the use of Nipro Diagnostics blood glucose monitoring systems is easy. Step one is reading all materials included in the QA/QC Manual. Step two is viewing a brief Clinical Instructional Video. Step three is taking the online click-through test.

Certified Trainer

Nipro Diagnostics provides an annual training certification for trainers. These certified trainers will instruct personnel who test point-of-care blood glucose in multi-patient facilities. The Training Certificate provides a record that the trainer is certified in the use of our blood glucose monitoring systems, and understands all procedures and limitations concerning our products. Certified Trainers are qualified to train facility personnel on the proper use of the blood glucose monitoring system. Obtaining your certification is as easy as one, two, three. Step one of is to read the QA/QC Manual. Step two is to view a brief Clinical Instructional Video. Step three is to successfully complete the Certified Trainer Post Test.

Interested parties may review and take the certification test in the QA/QC manual. Please send your results through the mail.
